Afterword
Ideally, I would like to have included more information about each film than was possible here. For further reference, check out the excellent
Internet Movie Database, or some of the printed sources which I used during my research on 'Pass The Marmalade'. If you can find them, I particularly recommend 'Horror And Science Fiction Films - A Checklist' by Donald C.Willis, plus the three later updates produced by Don. Also useful are 'The Hammer Story' by Marcus Hearn and Alan Barnes, Andy Boot's 'Fragments Of Fear', Harvey Fenton's fanzine 'Flesh And Blood' and Eric McNaughton's fanzine 'We Belong Dead'.
In an attempt to be as complete as possible, a small handful of the titles included in the list are ones about which I have been unable to verify information in full. Where possible, I have mentioned or alluded to this, but have decided to include the films in the listing anyway in the hope that someone out there will be able to provide further details. Some of the late 1970s-early 1980s shorts are ones which I saw at the cinema and unfortunately failed to record much detail on at the time; I'm fairly certain, for instance, that THE COTTAGE (1982) starred Nicola Paget and that RETRIBUTION (1981) had Geoffrey Palmer in it, but my memory may be playing tricks. The promo video by Landscape for their single 'Norman Bates' (the follow-up to their hit 'Einstein A Go-Go') is included in the list here; although there seems to be no confirmation on the BBFC's website that it was ever issued with a U.K. cinema certificate, I'm fairly certain that I can recall reading a news item (probably in NME circa 1981) stating that this was an 11-minute video starring the group and Pamela Stephenson and that it was to be screened in cinemas. A number of Bill Baggs' BBV video productions starring former 'Doctor Who' cast members have also been recorded here; I'd be grateful for further information about other titles from BBV, particularly any with significant horror content. Another title that I'm not altogether certain about is SLEEPWALKER, about which Kim Newman wrote in Harvey Fenton's 'Flesh And Blood' #9. Kim claims that this is an incredibly obscure, unreleased work directed by one Saxon Logan; does this movie exist or is it one of Mr.Newman's elaborate hoaxes? I'll retain it in the list unless anyone can confirm that it may not be genuine!*
Naturally, any additional comments or information will be welcomed. I hope to maintain regular updates on this site, adding (or deleting!) titles as more details come to light or as new productions reach fruition, so anything you may have to contribute on the subject of British horror films will be of great interest.

* SLEEPWALKER director Saxon Logan was kind enough to contact me in January 2002 and has confirmed the existence of his movie!
